Ceremonial Cacao and Chaga: A Simple Pairing

Cacao and Chaga are both earthy ingredients, and the simplest reason to put them together is that the flavours work well.

Chaga is a fungus traditionally prepared as an infusion, while ceremonial cacao is whole cacao with its naturally occurring cacao butter still present. Neither needs a long list of exaggerated claims to make it interesting.

Making a cacao and Chaga drink

If you have a Mother Earth product that already combines cacao and Chaga, follow the directions on that product.

If you are using them separately, make your Chaga according to its label and use it as part of the liquid for your cacao. For an everyday cacao cup, around 15–25g of cacao is a sensible place to start.

Cinnamon, vanilla or a small amount of sweetener can soften the earthy flavour if you like.

Keep it practical

More is not automatically better with either ingredient. Follow the product labels, especially if you are new to functional mushrooms.
