Why Cacao Is Still at the Heart of Mother Earth
Why Cacao Is Still at the Heart of Mother Earth
Cacao is where this business started.
What drew me in was not just the drink itself. It was learning about the people behind it, the way cacao is prepared and used, and building real working relationships with source communities, families, growers and producers connected to the cacao we buy.
That became Just Cacao, and over time Just Cacao grew into Mother Earth Wellness.
Whole cacao, not cocoa powder
Our ceremonial cacao is made from whole cacao, with the cacao butter naturally present. It is not the same product as standard low-fat cocoa powder.
Some people use cacao as a morning drink. Others prepare it before journalling, meditation, creative work, group circles or quiet time. It can be as simple or as personal as you want it to be.
The origins matter
We work with distinct cacao origins rather than pretending every cacao tastes or feels the same.
Our range includes cacao connected to:
- Guatemala, including Entre Nubes, Caoba and Cahabón
- Sur del Lago de Maracaibo in Venezuela
- Tena in Ecuador
- Amma cacao from India
Each has its own source story and flavour. That is more interesting to me than putting one generic “premium cacao” label on everything.
From cacao into a wider wellness range
Mother Earth has grown into tea, botanicals, functional mushrooms, gifts, trade supply and cacao training, but the same idea still applies: know what the product is, know where it came from when we can, and do not turn it into something it is not.
