Just Cacao | Sur del Lago de Maracaibo, Venezuela

This is the cacao that started the Just Cacao side of our story.

It comes from Sur del Lago de Maracaibo in Venezuela, a region with a long cacao-growing tradition. Behind it are cacao-growing communities and men working the land, planting and growing cacao to support their families, homes and local communities.

Our sourcing story here is also connected with Plan Más Cacao and the wider work around cacao farming in the region.

I think that context matters. It is easy for cacao to become another brown block in a pouch once it reaches Europe. For us, it should still feel connected to the people and place it came from.

Flavour

Rich, smooth and deeply chocolatey with a rounded, grounding character.

How to prepare

Use around 20–30g for an everyday cup, or adjust the amount to suit your own practice. Gently melt into hot water or milk and whisk until smooth.

Ingredients: 100% cacao.

From Sur del Lago families in Venezuela to our customers in Ireland, that human chain is part of what Just Cacao means to us.
