Cacao and the New Moon: A Personal Ritual, Not a Rule

Some people like marking a new moon with journalling, reflection, meditation or cacao. Others do not pay attention to lunar cycles at all.

Both are completely fine.

Where cacao fits

Cacao can give you something warm to prepare while you slow down for a few minutes. The useful part is the pause, not a promise that the moon or the cacao will manifest something for you.

If you like the symbolism of a new beginning, you might use the time to write down what you want to focus on over the next few weeks.

A simple version

  1. Prepare cacao in the way you normally enjoy it.
  2. Put the phone away for a few minutes.
  3. Write one thing you want more of and one thing you are ready to stop carrying.
  4. Drink the cacao slowly and leave it there.

No special language is required, and you do not need to force a spiritual experience.
